The frost soon will take the flowers from my garden. Every year there are surprises….what has bloomed and what has struggled? What has been knocked down by a fierce wind after having grown nine feet tall? I know that those flowers can be cut and made into a fall bouquet and that their seeds can be saved for next season. What I know is that I can never replicate the same garden twice.
Recruiting mirrors this experience. Companies are ever-evolving.
To cultivate a flourishing organization, it’s essential to nurture talent at various stages of development.
I often wish I could predict every twist and turn, but I’ve come to accept that much of the beauty lies in unpredictability.
When I encounter something exceptional—I find a place for it, even if it wasn’t part of the original vision. Identifying such talent is one of my strengths as a recruiter. After all, every great garden thrives on surprises.
My advice to clients if you come across a rising star, try to find a solution to add them to the team. Like a stunning flower that brings unexpected joy, the right person can transform an organization, adding vibrancy and growth in ways you never imagined.
